Kenny Rogers admitted to hospital

Entertainer Kenny Rogers has been admitted to a Georgia hospital for dehydration, according to his official Twitter account.

A statement posted Friday said he would remain there for physical therapy to “get his strength back” before being discharged. The statement said the 80-year-old singer and actor appreciated the well wishes from fans and wanted to assure everyone that “he plans on sticking around through the years to come.”

The husky-voiced balladeer retired from touring in 2017 after a 60-year career spanning jazz, folk, country and pop, with hits like “The Gambler,” ”Lucille” and “Lady.”

NBA Rumors: Mavericks Will Target Kemba Walker, Khris Middleton in Free Agency

Aaron Gash/Associated Press After finding a new franchise cornerstone in Luka Doncic this past season, the Dallas Mavericks have big hopes for free agency this summer to boost their surrounding talent.  According to  Marc Stein of the  New York Times , the Mavs are looking for “s hooters, athleticism and veterans.” Stein mentioned Khris Middleton and Kemba Walker as two of their top targets.  The Mavericks should have ample salary-cap space to sign free agents. They currently have only $45.9 million in guaranteed salary on their books for next season, per   Basketball Insiders , although they’ll also have to re-sign Kristaps Porzingis this summer.  Per   Shams Charania   of The Athletic and Stadium, the NBA ‘s projected salary cap for 2019-20 is $109 million, while the luxury-tax threshold is projected to be $132 million.  Stein said the Mavs are hopeful they will have a shot at signing one of either Middleton or Walker.  D...

Lakers Rumors: Ex-Bucks HC Jason Kidd, Juwan Howard to Interview for Vacancy

Maddie Meyer/Getty Images After interviewing  Monty Williams and  Tyronn Lue for their head coaching vacancy, the Los Angeles Lakers have turned their attention to Jason Kidd and Juwan Howard, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN. Kidd reportedly interviewed  for several hours Monday with  general manager Rob Pelinka and team executive Kurt Rambis. Howard is also set to interview with the Lakers, while Williams and Lue are expected to have follow-up meetings. Kidd has had an up-and-down career as a head coach following his playing days as a Hall of Fame point guard. In five seasons with the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks , he has a 183-190 record in the regular season and a 9-15 record in the playoffs.
